Along with the bigger iPad Air, Apple also unveiled the 2nd generation of iPad mini with Retina Display. While the iPad mini was a highly successful tablet, the number one requested feature was the high-resolution display. This device now bears the same 2048 x 1536 pixels as the bigger iPad, but crammed into a smaller 7.9-inch screen size. This results in a higher-pixel density of 326 PPI, the same as the iPhone 5s. It also shares the same 64-bit A7 chip of its older brother, which brings a fourfold CPU performance jump from the previous model and a whopping eight times faster graphics bump! Dimensions-wise, the iPad mini with Retina Display is just 0.3mm thicker and 23 grams heavier than the first-gen, owing to the high-quality display and the increased battery size to support the same 10 hour battery life.
Rest of the specs are more or less the same — it's got the same 5 megapixel rear camera and 1.2MP front-facing module. The WiFi 802.11n is now MIMO compatible, claiming double the performance. LTE band support is also increased to support coverage of more countries including India. This is the top-of-the-line 128GB WiFi only model.
