The Neo series from Samsung comprise of scaled down versions of popular Galaxy devices. Grand Neo is a scaled down version of Grand 2. The Grand Neo sports a 5-inches display with a screen resolution of 800x480 pixels. The screen resolution is uninspiring it results in a grainy output. The Grand 2 has a HD screen which is much better than this one. Under the hood, there is 1.2GHz Quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. Although it may sound like the chipset’s gotten better than the dual-core chip on the original Grand Duos, but keep in mind that this one’s is an Cortex A7-based chip, whereas the former phone’s was based on Cortex A9. The downscaling of the Grand Neo comes in the form of the 5 megapixel rear camera at the back which is lower than the 8MP sensor on the original Grand Duos. It’s complemented by a flash and features a VGA (0.3MP) front facing camera for video calling (Grand Duos had a 2MP sensor). It can record HD videos at 720p (i.e. not Full HD) whereas Grand 2 can record Full HD videos at 1080p. For connectivity — 3G, Bluetooth and GPS options are available. It supports Dual-SIMs and has a 2100mAh battery, which as per company claims should allow 8 hours of uninterrupted internet browsing on 3G.
